Chub is an endemic species from Cyprinidae family typical for Adriatic region. Usually this fish lives in shoals. Its body is cylinder shaped and it has quite large scales all overs its body. It can grow up to 70 cm (25,5') and to 5 kg (11 lb) in weight. It feeds on aquatic organisms, plants and fruit.
Because it is considered a white fish it has been frowned upon by fisherman, but this fish can be a real fighter and can be very difficult to catch on a fly.
