Grayling is an endemic salmonid species to our rivers. It lives is all our rivers except Kneža, Koritnica and Bela. In our waters it grows to 60 cm (23,5') and 2 kg (4,5 lb) in weight. It is well known from its long lively colored dorsal fin. It feeds almost exclusively on aquatic insects because of its soft mouth but the larger specimens go for other smaller fish as well.
Because of its notoriously cautious feeding habits and its special looks this fish is vary prized by fly +fisherman.
